It’s interesting reading your perspective as a mother. In my own article published recently about my parents’ rules about social media and mobile phones, I argue the case for technological freedom when set against a background of open discussion about what may be encountered. I found my parents strict rules about technology made me secretive and dishonest. But they’ve relaxed their rules with my younger brothers and I can see a real, tangible benefit to relinquishing the desire to protect by withholding technology from children.
